Why Is My RSS Connector Not Posting to Twitter?
Last updated: May 1, 2026
An RSS connector that stops posting is usually caused by one of a handful of identifiable issues. Work through this checklist to find and fix the cause.
Why is my RSS connector not posting?
1. Feed URL is invalid or changed
If your blog changed domains, restructured its URL, or the feed path changed, the connector will fail silently. Paste the current feed URL directly in a browser — a valid feed returns XML. Update the connector's feed URL if it has changed.
2. X authentication expired
X OAuth tokens expire periodically. If your connection shows as disconnected, go to Settings → X Account and click Reconnect. After reconnecting, the connector will resume posting on its next scheduled check.
3. Feed has no new items
The RSS connector only posts when new items appear since the last check. If your blog hasn't published anything new, the connector runs but finds nothing to post — which is correct behavior, not an error.
4. All items have already been posted
OpenTweet tracks the unique ID and URL of each posted RSS item. If every item in the feed has already been processed, the connector skips them. New posts will resume when the feed publishes new items with new IDs.
5. Connector is paused or disabled
Check the connector status on the Connectors page. A paused connector shows a "Paused" badge. Toggle it back to Active to resume automatic posting.
6. Daily post limit reached
If your plan's daily scheduled post limit was already reached (Pro: 20/day, Advanced: 100/day), the connector won't create additional posts that day. Posts resume the next day.
7. AI generation failed
If the connector uses AI to generate tweet text and the AI generation fails (e.g., daily AI limit reached), the post is skipped for that check. Manual template mode bypasses AI generation.
