The best Bluesky scheduler, compared by how it connects
We checked 10 Bluesky scheduling tools against their own sites and docs: how each one connects to your account, what it costs, whether it has a free plan, and what else it posts to. Most still ask for an App Password. The right pick depends on what else you post to, so this page is organized by use case, not by a ranking.

Pick the row that describes you. More than one tool fits most of them.
You want it free
Buffer, Fedica, Publer or Postpone
All four have a free plan that includes Bluesky. Buffer allows 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each. Fedica allows 10 scheduled posts and includes threads and polls. Publer allows 3 accounts but not X. Postiz is free if you host it yourself.
You also need Instagram, TikTok or Facebook
Buffer or Publer
Both cover the visual networks OpenTweet does not, at a low per-channel price. Buffer caps Bluesky images at 1MB, so check your image sizes.
Bluesky is your main network
Postpone or Fedica
Both go deeper on Bluesky itself: threads and Bluesky analytics. Postpone adds auto-repost and supports accounts on self-hosted servers.
You run an agency or a team inbox
Vista Social or SocialBee
Built around teams, approvals and many client profiles. They cost more because of it.
You want open source on your own server
Postiz
Self-host it for free, or pay for the hosted version. The Bluesky connector needs two-factor authentication turned off.
You post on X first, or through an AI agent, and want no App Password
OpenTweet
The only tool here we could verify connects Bluesky with atproto OAuth. One post goes to X, Bluesky and LinkedIn, with a REST API, a hosted MCP server and a CLI.

Why the connection method matters
Bluesky has no API keys, so every scheduler connects in one of two ways.
An App Password is a string you generate in Bluesky settings and paste into the tool. It is better than sharing your real password, but it is not scoped: it can do close to everything your account can. The tool stores it, and if the same string sits in three tools, deleting it cuts off all three.
atproto OAuth sends you to bsky.social, or to your own server if you self-host, to approve the tool. You never type a password into the tool, the grant covers only what the tool asked for, and you revoke it on its own. It is the current auth model in atproto, and App Passwords are the older one.
Neither is a scandal. App Passwords were the only option for a long time, which is why most tools use them. But if you would rather not hand over a credential, it is worth checking before you connect. The full comparison is here, and the short answer is here.

Check any Bluesky scheduler yourself
Vendors change their connect flow. Three checks take a few minutes.
Open the connect screen before you sign up for anything
Most tools let you reach the Bluesky connect step during the trial. If the form has a password field, the tool stores an App Password. If it sends you to bsky.social or your own server to approve, it uses OAuth.
Search the help center for "App Password"
Every tool that uses one documents how to make one, because users cannot connect otherwise. No result, plus a redirect to your server, usually means OAuth.
Ask whether a self-hosted account can connect
OAuth finds your server from your handle, so it has to work anywhere. Some App Password tools also handle it, Postpone for one, so a yes does not prove OAuth, but a no rules it out.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Bluesky scheduler?
It depends on what else you post to. For a free plan, Buffer, Fedica, Publer and Postpone all include Bluesky. If Bluesky is your main network, Postpone and Fedica go deepest, with threads and Bluesky analytics. If you also need Instagram, TikTok or Facebook, Buffer or Publer. If you post on X first, work through an API or an AI agent, and do not want to hand over an App Password, OpenTweet.
Is there a Bluesky scheduler that does not need an App Password?
OpenTweet connects with atproto OAuth: you type your handle, approve on your own server, and no password or App Password is ever entered into OpenTweet. Of the other tools we checked in September 2026, Buffer, Fedica, Postiz, Postpone, Publer, Schedulala, SocialBee and Vista Social all document an App Password. Post Bridge says its connections use OAuth but has no Bluesky-specific guide.
Is there a free Bluesky scheduler?
Yes. Buffer has a free plan with 3 channels and 10 scheduled posts per channel. Fedica has a free plan with up to 10 scheduled posts, threads and polls included. Publer has a free plan with 3 accounts, not counting X. Postpone has a free plan. Postiz is free if you host it yourself. OpenTweet has no free plan, only a 7-day free trial.
Is it safe to give a scheduler my Bluesky App Password?
It is safer than your main password, and less safe than OAuth. An App Password is not scoped, so it grants close to everything your account can do. The tool stores it, and deleting it cuts off every tool sharing that string. If you use one, make a separate App Password per tool so you can revoke one without breaking the rest.
Which Bluesky schedulers support threads?
Buffer supports Bluesky threads of up to 25 posts. Postpone supports threads of unlimited length. Publer has a thread composer for X, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon. Fedica schedules threads on its free plan. OpenTweet posts threads as real reply chains, and the same thread can go to X at the same time.
Which Bluesky scheduler also posts to X and LinkedIn?
Most multi-network tools here cover all three, including Buffer, Publer, Fedica, Post Bridge and Postiz. OpenTweet posts one post to X, Bluesky and LinkedIn together and goes deepest on X. It does not post to Instagram, TikTok or Facebook, so for those pick Buffer or Publer.
Does OpenTweet show Bluesky analytics?
No. OpenTweet analytics cover X only, and nothing reads Bluesky engagement back. If you need Bluesky analytics, Buffer, Postpone, Fedica and Vista Social all offer them.
