How Jimi Barkway builds AffiliateRail in public on a 10 minute daily loop
“I was posting inside five minutes of getting the key.”
AffiliateRail is non-custodial affiliate software for SaaS founders. Jimi Barkway is building it in public from London, which means the product and the audience have to grow on the same calendar. Posting is not a marketing task he can postpone to a quieter week, it is part of shipping.
The loop is deliberately small. In the morning he schedules that day's post, so the output side of building in public is done before the actual work starts. Then he runs the AI reply search to surface people in the affiliate and SaaS space worth replying to, drafts a reply to the ones that earn it, and sends each one himself. Two passes, one surface, and the day is not interrupted again.
What he points to first is how little setup stood between signing up and posting: he was posting inside five minutes of getting the key. For a founder who is already running a product, that is the difference between a tool that gets adopted and one that sits in a tab. Jimi also reports what he runs into, and several changes to the reply drafting came directly from his notes.
