How TYPA fires 1,000 restock alerts a month through OpenTweet's API

I wired it up once and basically forgot about it. For a system pushing 1,000 posts a month, that's exactly what I needed.

TYPA tracks limited-edition drops and restocks for collectors — Pop Mart figures, Pokémon TCG sets, sneakers, gaming hardware. The moment their backend detects something new — a Labubu series going live on Pop Mart, a hyped set hitting Target, a PS5 restock at Best Buy — the system calls the OpenTweet API and a post goes out within seconds.

The X account has become a free public feed of what TYPA's trackers are catching in real time. They push around 1,000 posts a month across multiple categories, with zero manual touch. Collectors follow it to stay ahead of drops they'd otherwise miss.

What sealed it was the API simplicity. No auth headaches, no edge cases to work around, no babysitting. Lucas wired it up once and it ran. For a backend that needs to fire posts reliably — at any hour, at any volume — without a human in the loop, that reliability is everything.
