Four things the real weights change

Stop optimizing for likes

A like is 0.5, the second cheapest positive action on the table. Two hundred likes score 100 points. Five copy link shares score the same. Write posts people want to send somewhere, not posts people tap.

Bookmarks are decoration

Bookmark weight is 0. Profile click weight is 0. Every "bookmark this" and "link in bio" call to action is asking readers to do something the ranker does not count.

One report undoes a good day

Report is -234, or 468 likes. Mute is -58.8. Not interested is -43.2. Engagement bait and mass tagging are the fastest routes to all three, which is why they cost more than they return.

Replying to mutuals is worth 20.0

Your own reply to a mutual inside your own thread carries the same weight as a copy link share. It is the only 20.0 action you control directly, and most accounts never do it.

What this calculator does not do

It does not predict reach. The published weights turn engagement into a ranking score for one post. Reach also depends on candidate retrieval, how much affinity a reader has with you, recency, and whether any visibility filtering is applied to the post or the account.

It does not read anything from X. There is no API call, no login, and no data leaves your browser. You type the counts you can already see in your own post analytics.

Do bookmarks help the X algorithm?

No. In the weights X published, a bookmark carries a weight of 0, so it adds nothing to a post ranking score. Bookmarks are still useful as a private signal that your content is worth keeping, and creators can see the count, but asking for bookmarks buys you no reach in the released ranker.

How many likes is one repost worth on X?

Two. A repost is weighted 1.0 and a like is weighted 0.5, so one repost equals two likes. A quote post is weighted 5.0, which is ten likes, so asking for commentary rather than a plain repost is worth five times as much.

How much does one report cost on X?

A report is weighted -234. A like is 0.5. One report therefore cancels 468 likes of ranking score. Mute is -58.8 (117.6 likes), not interested is -43.2 (86.4 likes), and block is -31.2 (62.4 likes). Avoiding negative signals matters more than chasing likes.

Why is a copy link share worth 40 likes?

A copy link share is weighted 20.0 against a like at 0.5, so the ratio is 40 to 1. Copying a link is what someone does when they want to paste a post into Slack, a group chat, or a newsletter, which X treats as a much stronger quality signal than a tap on the like button.

Is this the real X algorithm?

These are the real published weights from the open-source Phoenix release. They are one part of ranking. X also applies candidate retrieval, author and reader affinity, recency, and visibility filtering, and the running production system can differ from any given open-source snapshot. This calculator applies the published numbers and does not guess at the rest.
