For agencies

HeyOrca stopped publishing to X. Here is how agencies keep posting.

HeyOrca ended direct publishing to X on April 6, 2026, and new HeyOrca accounts created after March 2, 2026 cannot connect X profiles at all. X posts can still sit on the HeyOrca calendar and go through approvals, but someone has to publish each one by hand. HeyOrca's help center points to a steep price increase for the API access it needed.

Keep HeyOrca for approvals if your clients rely on them

HeyOrca's client approval flow still works on X posts. If approvals are the reason you use it, keep it for that and use a second tool only for publishing to X. Source: HeyOrca help center, X (formerly Twitter) Integration Discontinuation.

Where OpenTweet fits

OpenTweet publishes to X automatically, and the same draft can go to LinkedIn and Bluesky. Agency is $49 a month for up to 10 X accounts, 10 LinkedIn profiles and 10 Bluesky accounts, 300 posts a day and 20 link posts a day, with no per-seat fee. Multi-post threads stay threads on X and Bluesky, and you never need an X developer account.

What OpenTweet does not do

  • No client approval portal.
  • No Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or Pinterest.
  • LinkedIn company pages are not supported, only personal profiles.
  • Link posts are capped at 20 a day on Agency and are not included on Pro.

Two ways to run it

  1. Keep HeyOrca for planning and approvals, publish X through OpenTweet

Clients keep approving in HeyOrca. Once a post is approved, schedule it in OpenTweet for the right client X account instead of posting it by hand.

  2. Move X fully to OpenTweet

If your clients do not need an approval step, connect each client X account in OpenTweet and plan, schedule and publish there.

  3. For agencies with automation

Schedule client posts through the OpenTweet REST API (POST /api/v1/posts) or the hosted MCP server at https://mcp.opentweet.io/mcp with 43 tools. Sign in with OAuth or send Authorization: Bearer ot_your_key. No X developer account.

Frequently asked questions

Does HeyOrca still post to X?

No. Direct publishing to X ended on April 6, 2026. Existing X profiles became placeholder accounts, so you can still plan X posts and get them approved, but you publish them yourself.

Why did HeyOrca drop X?

HeyOrca says the API access it needed for direct publishing and reporting saw a steep price increase that was unsustainable for it and not fair to pass on to customers.

Does HeyOrca still show X analytics?

No. HeyOrca says analytics are no longer available for X accounts, and it advised customers to export their X reports before April 6, 2026.

Does OpenTweet have client approvals?
