Hypefury genuinely wins the second row. It publishes to six networks OpenTweet does not touch, and if those matter to you it stays in your stack. Every other row is about X, which is the one network Hypefury no longer covers and the only network OpenTweet does.
The Hypefury habits that carry over
Most people who miss Hypefury on X miss two specific behaviors rather than the whole app. Both exist in OpenTweet.
Auto-retweet
- Turn it on per post when you schedule or publish
- Set the delay in minutes, 60 by default, or 120, 240, 480, 1440

Auto-plug
- Set an engagement threshold, then a reply that fires once a post crosses it
- Configure a default in settings so you do not set it per post
- Only the posts that actually take off get the plug

Anything still queued in Hypefury for X will not send, because Hypefury does not publish to X. There is no automated import between the two tools. Can I get auto-retweet and auto-plug somewhere else?
Yes. OpenTweet has both. Auto-retweet reposts a post after a delay you set, defaulting to 60 minutes and configurable per post. Auto-plug appends a follow-up reply once a post crosses an engagement threshold you choose. Those two behaviors were the reason many people paid for Hypefury on X, and they carry over.
What about my evergreen queue?
OpenTweet has an evergreen queue that recycles your best posts on a schedule, with per-plan limits and guards so a source post is not reposted on top of itself. There is no automated import from Hypefury, so plan on exporting or copying your evergreen set out of Hypefury before you cancel, then pasting it in.
How much does OpenTweet cost compared to Hypefury?

Do I need an X developer account to move my queue?
No. OpenTweet holds the X connection. You connect your X account once with OAuth, and there is no X developer portal application and no X pay-per-use billing to enroll in. If you want to post from code or from an AI agent, you take an ot_ bearer key instead.
Can I export my scheduled posts out of Hypefury?
Check your Hypefury account settings for an export before you cancel, and keep whatever you get. Since Hypefury no longer publishes to X, anything still queued there for X will not send. Treat the move as a copy-and-paste rebuild rather than a data migration, and start with your evergreen set because it is the part worth keeping.
