Can you schedule posts in the X app?

On iPhone, probably. On Android, not as far as we can confirm. X started rolling out scheduled posts to its mobile app in September 2026, and a hands-on test found the feature on iOS but not Android. X has not said who gets it, and its Help Center did not document it as of October 2026.

That is why guides disagree: many written before September still say the app cannot schedule at all. Check for yourself by updating the app and looking for a schedule option in the composer. If you do not see it, the routes below work today.

What we know about the mobile rollout

  • July 2026: SocialBee's X updates log notes X was working on scheduled posts for iOS.
  • September 5, 2026: Benji Taylor, who works on design at X, announced that scheduled posts had started rolling out to the mobile app. He did not say which operating systems would get it.
  • September 6, 2026: The same report found a "Scheduled post" drawer with a calendar in the iOS app. It was absent on a Pixel 8 running an alpha build of the Android app.
  • October 2026: Sked Social reports that X's Help Center still documents no schedule option for the iPhone or Android apps.

We have not found published limits for the mobile feature, such as how far ahead you can schedule or whether it handles threads and polls. We will update this page when X documents them.

How to schedule at ads.x.com

This is the native browser route X documents, and it does not need Premium.

  1. Go to ads.x.com and open the Composer tab on the left.
  2. Write the post.
  3. Select the dropdown arrow next to Post in the upper right corner of Composer.
  4. Choose the date and time, then select Schedule.
  5. To change it later, open the Posts tab, switch the "Posts: Promoted" dropdown to "Scheduled", and use the three-dot menu.

Check the post type

X frames this Composer around Promoted-only posts. Before you rely on it for normal timeline posts, schedule a test post and confirm it shows on your profile at the time you set.

When native scheduling is not enough

If you post once in a while, native scheduling is free and fine. A tool earns its cost when you need one of these:

  • Android. OpenTweet works in a phone browser, and the Telegram bot takes a message such as "Schedule this for tomorrow at 9am".
  • Threads without paying $30 a month for X Pro. See the thread scheduler.
  • A queue, so a new post takes the next open slot instead of a time you pick each time. See bulk scheduling.
  • Posting from code or an AI agent, through the API or MCP server.

OpenTweet Pro costs $19.99 a month and includes 1 link post a day. Native scheduling costs nothing, so if you only need a single post at a set time on an iPhone that has the feature, you do not need us.

Frequently asked questions

Can you schedule posts in the X app on iPhone?

Probably, depending on your account. A designer at X announced on September 5, 2026 that scheduled posts had started rolling out to the mobile app, and a hands-on review found the feature in the iOS app the next day. X has not said which accounts get it, and as of October 2026 its Help Center did not document it. Look for a schedule option in the composer after updating the app.

Can you schedule posts in the X app on Android?

Not as far as we can confirm. The September 2026 review did not find it in the latest Android app, including an alpha build (12.24.0-alpha.02), and we found no later report of it reaching Android as of November 1, 2026. On Android, use a mobile browser with a scheduling tool, or a bot such as the OpenTweet Telegram bot.

Do you need X Premium to schedule posts?

It depends on the route. X has not published a requirement for the mobile app. The Composer at ads.x.com needs access to ads.x.com, not Premium. X Pro is a paid feature: since The X Subscription launched in October 2026, it comes with the $30 a month Premium tier.

Can you schedule a thread natively on X?

Through X Pro, yes: according to X's X Pro help page as quoted by Sked Social, its composer supports threads, media and polls, including in scheduled posts. X does not document threads for the ads.x.com Composer, and we found no details on threads in the mobile app.

Where do you find scheduled posts on X?

At ads.x.com, open the Posts tab and change the "Posts: Promoted" dropdown to "Scheduled". From there, the three-dot menu lets you edit or delete a post. X Pro and third-party tools each keep their own list, so a post scheduled in one does not show in another.

What is the easiest way to schedule X posts from a phone?

If the option shows in your iPhone app, that is the simplest route for a single post. For Android, threads, a queue or AI drafting, use a tool. OpenTweet works in a phone browser and through its Telegram bot, where you can say "schedule this for tomorrow at 9am". It starts at $19.99/mo.
