How to save tweets for inspiration using the Chrome extension
The OpenTweet Chrome extension adds a "Save" button to every tweet on X. Click it to save the tweet — including its text, author info, media, and engagement metrics — to your Inspiration library in OpenTweet.
Saving a tweet
- Browse X (twitter.com) with the extension installed.
- Find a tweet you want to save.
- Click the OpenTweet save button that appears on the tweet.
- The tweet is saved to your Inspiration library instantly.
What gets saved
The extension captures rich data:
- Full tweet text
- Author name, username, avatar, and verified status
- Publication date and tweet URL
- Media attachments (images, GIFs)
- Engagement metrics: likes, retweets, replies, views
Viewing saved tweets
Go to the Inspiration page in OpenTweet to see all your saved tweets. Filter by source: "From Extension" shows tweets saved via the Chrome extension, while "Search" shows tweets found through OpenTweet's search feature.
Repurposing saved tweets
Select one or more saved tweets and click "Repurpose with AI" to generate original content inspired by them. The AI creates new tweets in your voice based on the themes and ideas in the saved content.
