Bluesky Thread Reader
This Bluesky thread reader unrolls any thread into one clean page, with images, alt text and links, and lets you copy it as text, Markdown or an X thread. No login.
How to unroll a Bluesky thread
Paste a Bluesky post link and this reader shows the author's whole thread as one page you can copy. It reads Bluesky's public API, so you do not need an account and the author is not notified.
What the reader counts as the thread
Bluesky threads are reply chains: each part is a reply to the one before it. Other people reply to the same posts, and the author can branch off too, so a raw thread view is a tree. The reader keeps the same line the Bluesky app numbers. In the words of the Bluesky app change that added thread numbering: "An OP thread is the oldest contiguous chain of replies starting from the root, all authored by OP."
- Paste any part. The reader walks up to the first post, then follows the author's earliest reply at each step.
- Images show with their alt text. Videos link back to Bluesky. Links, mentions and hashtags stay clickable.
- Quoted posts are summarized with the quoted author and text, plus a link to the original.
- Replies from other accounts are hidden unless you tick the box, and they never go into the X thread copy.
Reading an X thread instead? The Twitter Thread Reader formats a thread you paste in. To go the other way and turn long text into a Bluesky thread, use the Bluesky Thread Splitter.

Bluesky Thread Reader FAQ
Do I need a Bluesky account to read a thread?
No. The reader asks Bluesky's public API (public.api.bsky.app) for the post and its replies, the same open endpoint any logged-out viewer uses. You do not sign in, and nothing is posted or liked on your behalf.
Does the author know I unrolled their thread?
No. The request to Bluesky carries no account, so there is no one to notify. The reader fetches public data only when you click, and OpenTweet does not store the thread.
Can I see replies from other people?
Yes. Tick "Include replies from others" to list the direct replies other accounts left on each part of the thread, oldest first. They are left out by default so the thread reads as one article, and they never go into the X thread copy.
What counts as the thread?
The oldest unbroken chain of replies from the first post, all written by the author of that first post. That is the definition the Bluesky app uses for its own thread numbering. If the author branched off later, only the first branch is shown.
How long a thread can it read?
It follows the chain until it ends, up to 300 parts. We did not find a published limit on thread length in Bluesky's documentation. When you schedule a thread with OpenTweet, a Bluesky thread can have up to 100 parts.
Why does it refuse some accounts?
Bluesky lets people ask apps not to show their account to logged-out visitors. The reader respects that setting and will not display those threads. Open them in the Bluesky app while signed in.
Can I paste a link to the middle of a thread?
Yes. Paste any post in the thread and the reader walks up to the first post, then reads the whole chain from there. If the first post was deleted, it starts from the oldest post that is still available and tells you.
