LinkedIn Post Proofreader

A free LinkedIn post proofreader that fixes mistakes and leaves your writing alone. Every correction is a tracked change you can accept or reject, and the final text is counted against LinkedIn's 3,000 characters.

How to proofread a LinkedIn post

Paste your LinkedIn post and get spelling, grammar and clarity fixes shown as tracked changes. Nothing is rewritten, so the post still sounds like you.

What it fixes, and what it never touches

Fixed

  • Spelling mistakes and typos
  • Grammar: agreement, tense, missing or doubled words, its and it's
  • Punctuation: commas, apostrophes, full stops, stray spaces
  • A sentence that is genuinely hard to read, with the fewest words changed

Left alone

  • Your meaning, claims, numbers and names
  • Tone: casual stays casual, lowercase stays lowercase
  • Line breaks, blank lines, lists, emoji and hashtags
  • Length: no new hooks, calls to action or hashtags

The second list is enforced twice: once in the instructions to the model, and again on the server, which drops any suggestion that covers a long stretch of text, makes it much longer, changes line breaks or adds a dash. If a fix you see still feels like a rewrite, reject it.

Where did LinkedIn's Rewrite with AI go?

LinkedIn removed it. The AI post enhancement option, which rewrote a draft for you inside the composer, was pulled in 2026. On July 30, 2026 TechCrunch reported that LinkedIn was pulling its "enhance your post" feature and replacing it with one that proofreads your words instead of changing your voice. The same announcement added a button for reporting posts as AI slop.

In September 2026 Social Media Today reported the replacement, called Post Proofreader. It quotes LinkedIn saying the tool helps eligible Premium members improve post drafts, and that suggestions appear with inline change tracking so you stay in control of your content.

It works the same way, tracked changes you accept or reject, without a LinkedIn account. Copy the final text into LinkedIn when you are done.

The direction is clear: LinkedIn wants posts that sound like the person who wrote them. If you are wondering how that plays out for generated posts, read does LinkedIn penalize AI-generated content, and run a draft through the AI Slop Score to spot the phrases that make writing read as machine-made.

Before you post: three more checks

  1. Length. LinkedIn posts are capped at 3,000 characters. The LinkedIn character counter counts the strict way, in UTF-16 code units, so most emoji cost 2.
  2. The fold. Only the opening lines show before "...see more". The proofreader estimates where the cut falls, and the LinkedIn post preview draws the whole feed card. The cut depends on the device and screen width, so both are approximate.
  3. Formatting. LinkedIn does not render Markdown, so asterisks and pound signs show up as typed. Convert a draft with Markdown to LinkedIn.

Schedule the proofread post to LinkedIn and X

Paste the final text into OpenTweet and send one draft to your LinkedIn profile and X, plus Bluesky if you use it. LinkedIn has no scheduling API, so OpenTweet holds the post in its own queue and publishes it at the time you pick.

LinkedIn Post Proofreader FAQ

What does this LinkedIn post proofreader fix?

Spelling mistakes and typos, grammar such as agreement and missing words, punctuation, and a sentence only when it is genuinely hard to read. Each fix is shown as a tracked change with a short reason, and you accept or reject it before copying the final text.

Will it rewrite my post or change my voice?

No. It is told never to change meaning, tone, structure, line breaks, emoji or hashtags, and never to add sentences. On top of that, the server drops any suggestion that covers a long stretch of text, makes it much longer or changes line breaks, so you only see small corrections.

Is this LinkedIn proofreader free?

Yes. There is no signup. Each visitor can proofread up to 10 posts an hour. Posts can be up to 3,000 characters, the LinkedIn limit.

Where did LinkedIn's Rewrite with AI go?

LinkedIn removed its AI post enhancement feature, which rewrote drafts in the composer. TechCrunch reported on July 30, 2026 that LinkedIn was replacing it with a feature that proofreads your words instead of changing your voice. Social Media Today reported in September 2026 that the new Post Proofreader shows suggestions with inline change tracking.

Is LinkedIn's own Post Proofreader free?

Not for everyone. Social Media Today quotes LinkedIn describing Post Proofreader as a tool that helps eligible Premium members improve post drafts. This page works without a LinkedIn account or Premium.

What happens to the text I paste?

It is sent to an AI model for this one check and the result comes back to your browser. This page does not save the post and never publishes anything to LinkedIn.

How do I check whether my post reads as AI-written?

Proofreading fixes mistakes, it does not judge style. To check for the phrases and patterns that make writing read as generated, paste the post into the free AI Slop Score tool.
