How to set up Content Pillars for consistent posting
Content Pillars are the core topics you regularly post about on X/Twitter. Setting them up in OpenTweet helps the AI generate relevant, focused content that stays on-brand instead of producing generic tweets.
What are Content Pillars?
Content pillars are 3–7 topic categories that define your Twitter presence. For example, a SaaS founder might set pillars like: "product updates," "building in public," "developer tips," and "startup lessons." A fitness coach might use: "workout routines," "nutrition tips," "mindset," and "client wins."
Setting up Content Pillars
- Go to Settings from the sidebar.
- Find the Content Pillars section.
- Add your pillars — short phrases describing your topics.
- Save your changes.
How pillars affect AI generation
When you use AI Studio or repurpose inspiration content, OpenTweet includes your Content Pillars in the AI prompt. This guides the AI to generate tweets that align with your established topics rather than drifting off-topic.
Tips for effective pillars
- Keep pillars specific. "Marketing" is too broad; "SaaS content marketing strategies" is better.
- Limit to 3–7 pillars. Too many dilutes the focus.
- Update pillars as your content strategy evolves.
