Getting Started with OpenTweet
Last updated: April 10, 2026
Getting started with OpenTweet takes under 5 minutes. This guide walks you through creating your account, connecting your X profile, and publishing your first tweet.
How do I create my account?
Go to opentweet.io and click "Start Free Trial". Sign up using your email address or Google account. Every new account gets a 7-day free trial with full access to all features — no credit card is required. After your trial ends you can subscribe to continue using OpenTweet.
How do I connect my X account?
After signing up, you'll be prompted to connect your X account. Click "Connect X Account" and authorize OpenTweet through X's OAuth popup. OpenTweet never stores your X password — it uses secure OAuth tokens only. Your account connects in seconds.
How do I create my first tweet?
From the dashboard, type your tweet in the composer at the top of the page. You can write a single tweet or click the thread icon to create a multi-tweet thread. Alternatively, open AI Studio from the sidebar to generate tweet ideas with AI — describe what you want to post and the AI writes it for you.
How do I schedule or publish my tweet?
Once your tweet is written, click the calendar icon to pick a date and time, then click "Schedule". The tweet appears in your post queue and publishes automatically at the chosen time. To publish immediately, click "Post Now" instead. Scheduled tweets can be edited, rescheduled, or cancelled at any time by clicking them in the queue.
What should I explore next?
After publishing your first tweet, explore the sidebar to discover more features: open the Calendar for a visual view of your schedule, visit Connectors to set up automated posting from RSS or GitHub, try the Evergreen Queue to recycle your best content, and install the Chrome Extension to save tweet inspirations while browsing X.
