Automation & Connectors
How to share Stripe revenue milestones on X/Twitter
The Stripe connector connects to your Stripe account and automatically generates tweets when you hit revenue milestones, gain new customers, or reach MRR targets. It's designed for SaaS founders who build in public.
Setting up the Stripe connector
- Go to Connectors and click "New Connector."
- Select "Stripe" as the type.
- Enter your Stripe API key (restricted key with read-only access is sufficient).
- OpenTweet tests the connection immediately.
- Choose which metric types to track.
- Click "Create."
Metric types
- Revenue milestones — Tweets when total revenue crosses thresholds ($1K, $5K, $10K, etc.).
- MRR milestones — Celebrates Monthly Recurring Revenue milestones.
- Customer milestones — Tweets when customer count hits round numbers.
- New sales — Announces individual new sales (optional).
- New subscribers — Announces new subscription signups.
- Revenue recaps — Periodic summaries of revenue performance.
Security
Your Stripe API key is encrypted at rest. Use a restricted API key with read-only access for maximum security. OpenTweet only reads payment data — it never modifies your Stripe account. The API key is masked in the UI after creation.
