LinkedIn PDF carousel checker

Already have a carousel from another tool? Check it before you upload. LinkedIn document posts accept PDF, PPT, PPTX, DOC and DOCX files up to 100 MB and 300 pages. The file is read in your browser and never uploaded.

Choose a file to see its type, size and page count against LinkedIn's limits.

Document post, multi-image post or carousel ad?

"LinkedIn carousel" is used for three different things. Only one of them is what this tool makes.

Document post

An organic post with a PDF, PPT, PPTX, DOC or DOCX attached, up to 100 MB and 300 pages. The feed shows it page by page, so people swipe through it. This is the usual LinkedIn PDF carousel.

Multi-image post

An organic post with several images. LinkedIn's API accepts 2 to 20 images in one. It is a separate format from a document post, built from image files instead of one PDF.

Carousel ad

A sponsored format with cards you pay to promote. LinkedIn's Posts API lists carousels as sponsored only and says organic carousels are not supported.

Sources

File types and the 100 MB and 300 page limits come from LinkedIn's Documents API docs. The sponsored-only carousel note is from the Posts API and the 2 to 20 image range from the MultiImage API.

Wrote it as a thread first? Post that everywhere too

OpenTweet does not post PDF documents yet, so upload the carousel from LinkedIn. What it does do: schedule LinkedIn text and image posts to your personal profile, and send the original thread to X and Bluesky as native threads from the same draft.

Want the thread as a single LinkedIn post? Convert it here and preview how it looks.

LinkedIn carousel FAQ

What is a LinkedIn carousel generator?

It turns your text into a set of designed slides and exports them as one PDF. You upload that PDF to LinkedIn as a document post, which shows in the feed as a swipeable carousel. This one runs in your browser, is free, and can start from an X thread.

How do I turn a Twitter thread into a LinkedIn carousel?

Choose the X thread mode and paste the thread. Each tweet becomes one slide, split on numbering like 1/ or 2/5, or on blank lines. Numbering and the thread emoji are removed by default. Pick a template and size, then download the PDF.

What size should a LinkedIn PDF carousel be?

We found no required page size in LinkedIn's documentation for document posts. 1080 x 1080 square and 1080 x 1350 portrait are common practice, not a LinkedIn rule. The hard limits are on the file: up to 100 MB and 300 pages.

How many slides can a LinkedIn carousel have?

A LinkedIn document can have up to 300 pages, so the platform limit is 300 slides. This tool stops the export above 300. Most carousels are far shorter, because every slide has to earn the next swipe.

What is the LinkedIn PDF carousel file size limit?

Documents can be up to 100 MB, in PDF, PPT, PPTX, DOC or DOCX format. A PDF from this tool is usually a few megabytes, and the checker on this page reads the size and page count of any file before you upload it.

Why does my LinkedIn PDF carousel look blurry?

Often because the slides were exported at a low resolution and then scaled up. This tool renders each slide at twice its size, 2160 pixels wide, so the text stays sharp when LinkedIn scales the page to fit the feed.

Is a LinkedIn document post the same as a carousel ad?

No. The carousel content type in LinkedIn's Posts API is for sponsored content only, and LinkedIn's docs say organic carousels are not supported there. What most people call a LinkedIn carousel is an organic document post: a PDF shown page by page.

Can OpenTweet schedule a PDF carousel to LinkedIn?

Not yet. OpenTweet schedules LinkedIn text and image posts to your personal profile, and can post the original thread to X and Bluesky from the same draft. Upload the carousel PDF from LinkedIn itself.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. The slides are drawn and turned into a PDF in your browser. Your text and any file you check stay on your device.
