Why did my X payout stop?
Almost certainly because Creator Revenue Sharing ended. Its final payout was September 7, 2026. Nothing failed on your account, and there is no setting to fix. X replaced it with Original Content Rewards, a separate program with its own enrollment opening September 8, 2026, and its own eligibility gates.
If your last payment landed on or before September 7, that was the last one on the old terms. Getting paid again means qualifying for the new program.
Program ended, or payout actually broken?
These look identical from the outside: money used to arrive, now it does not. They have different fixes, so tell them apart before you open a support ticket.
Your last payment landed on or before September 7, 2026
That was the final Creator Revenue Sharing payout. The program is over. This is the case for almost everyone asking the question right now.
Your payout account shows a failed or pending transfer
That is a payment problem, not a program problem. Check the payout account details on X and the account status with your payout provider. A rejected bank account or an unverified identity holds transfers.
Your Premium subscription lapsed
Both the old program and the new one require an active Premium subscription. A card that expired quietly ends eligibility. Basic at $3/mo does not qualify for either.
Your account picked up a restriction
Monetization stops for accounts under enforcement. If you are on an account created at least a year ago with 10 or more posts in the last month, X now lets you download a label export showing which post labels and account states were applied to you.
One thing that is not the cause
A drop in impressions did not stop your revenue sharing payments. That program paid on ads served in your reply threads, not on your impression count. A clean stop right after September 7 is the program, not your performance. How to start getting paid again
Original Content Rewards pays on verified Home Timeline impressions of your original posts, biweekly, through Stripe and X Money. To enroll you need all four of these at once:
- An active Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business subscription
- Account holder aged 18 or over
- At least 500 verified followers
- At least 500,000 verified Home Timeline impressions in the prior 90 days, replies excluded
That last gate is the one that catches people. It looks backward at 90 days, so the posting that qualifies you already happened. If you are short today, you are looking at a fresh 90 day window, which starts with the next post you publish.
Run your own numbers in the eligibility checker to see the exact gap, then model what it pays in the X earnings calculator. The full rule set, including what disqualifies you, is in the 2026 program guide, and the step by step path is in how to qualify for Original Content Rewards.
Worth knowing before you rebuild your posting habits: reposted or reproduced content does not qualify, and soliciting engagement three or more times gets you removed from the program plus a policy referral. The tactics that maximized reply-thread ad revenue are the ones the new program penalizes. If revenue sharing was one of several income streams for you, the other ways to monetize X do not depend on this program at all.

Frequently asked questions
Why did my X payout stop in September 2026?
Because Creator Revenue Sharing ended. Its final payout was September 7, 2026. Nothing failed on your account and there is no setting to fix. X replaced the program with Original Content Rewards, which has separate enrollment opening September 8, 2026.
Is my X payout missing or is the program gone?
Check the date. Money that arrived up to and including September 7, 2026 was the last revenue sharing payment. If you are looking for a payment after that under the old program, it does not exist. A genuine payout failure normally shows an error on your payout account, a failed transfer, or a suspended status, not a clean stop on a known end date.
Do I get paid again automatically under the new program?
No. Original Content Rewards is a separate program with its own enrollment, opening September 8, 2026. You have to enroll, and you have to clear the gates: active Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business, 18 or over, 500 verified followers, and 500,000 verified Home Timeline impressions in the prior 90 days with replies excluded.
Can I appeal the end of revenue sharing?
There is nothing to appeal. The program was retired for everyone on the same date, it was not a decision about your account. The path back to earning is qualifying for Original Content Rewards.
Do I need to switch to X Money to get paid?
No. Original Content Rewards pays through Stripe and through X Money. Stripe remains a supported payout rail, so an existing Stripe payout account still works. X Money is an option, not a requirement.
My impressions did not drop, so why did the money stop?
The old program paid on ads served in the replies under your posts, so your impression count was never what generated the payment. The new program measures something different again: verified Home Timeline impressions on original posts, replies excluded. Steady impressions and zero payout are entirely consistent with a program change.
The next 90 days decide your first payout
The window is rolling and backward-looking. Original posts, published daily, with no dead weeks inside it.
