How to qualify for X Original Content Rewards

Clear four gates at once: an active Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business subscription, age 18 or over, 500 verified followers, and 500,000 verified Home Timeline impressions in the prior 90 days with replies excluded. That last one is about 5,556 impressions a day on original posts. Enrollment opens September 8, 2026, and payouts are biweekly through Stripe and X Money.

The window looks backward, so the posting that qualifies you happens before you enroll. This page turns the gates into a 90 day plan.

The six steps

1

Turn on Premium and confirm it is active

Original Content Rewards requires an active Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business subscription. Basic at $3/mo does not qualify. Check the renewal date, because a lapsed subscription ends eligibility even if your impressions clear the gate.

2

Pull your last 90 days of verified impressions

Open X Analytics, set the range to the last 90 days, and read impressions on original posts. Exclude replies, they do not count. Enter the number in the eligibility checker to see the exact gap to 500,000.

3

Work out your daily impression pace

Divide 500,000 by 90. You need about 5,556 verified Home Timeline impressions per day sustained across the window. Compare that to the daily average you just calculated to see how far short you are.

4

Set a posting cadence that holds that pace

At one original post per day you need roughly 5,556 verified impressions per post. At three per day it is about 1,852 each. Pick the cadence you can actually sustain for 90 days rather than the one that looks best on paper.

5

Write original posts only, and schedule them

Reposted or reproduced content does not qualify. Replies do not count. Batch-write original standalone posts and queue them so the 90 day window never contains a dead week.

6

Stay clear of the disqualifiers, then enroll

Do not solicit engagement. Three or more instances means removal from the program plus a policy referral. Enrollment opens September 8, 2026, and payouts are biweekly through Stripe and X Money.

The arithmetic nobody wants to do

500,000 verified impressions divided by 90 days is 5,555.6 per day. What that costs you per post depends entirely on your cadence, and the tradeoff is real: more posts per day means each one carries less of the load, but the quality per post has to hold or the average impressions fall faster than the count rises.

Verified is not the same as total

Those numbers are verified Home Timeline impressions from paying Premium users, on original posts, at 50 percent visibility. Your analytics impression count is a larger number than the one being measured. Aim above the line, not at it.

Check your own gap in the Original Content Rewards eligibility checker before you plan the cadence. It converts your 90 day total into a daily pace and tells you what the pace needs to become.

What does not count, and what gets you removed

Reposted or reproduced content

Does not qualify. It still collects impressions in your analytics, it just does not earn and does not count toward the threshold.

Replies

Excluded from the 500,000. Replying under large accounts is still a fine growth tactic for followers, but it contributes nothing to this gate.

Engagement solicitation, three or more times

Removal from the program plus a referral for a policy violation. That covers asking for likes, reposts, replies or follows to inflate reach.

Under the old revenue sharing rules, provoking replies was the strategy, because ads in your reply threads were what paid. Carrying that habit into the new program is the fastest way out of it. The background on why the incentives flipped is in what replaced X Creator Revenue Sharing.

Hold the cadence without living in the app

A 90 day rolling window punishes gaps in a way that daily posting does not reward heroics. One dead week sits inside your measured total for the next three months, and you cannot backfill it. The fix is boring: write in batches, publish daily, keep the queue non-empty.

OpenTweet drafts original posts in your voice, queues them, and publishes on schedule. If you would rather drive it from a script or an agent, the same publish and schedule actions are one REST call.

Agents can do the same over MCP at https://mcp.opentweet.io/mcp. Either way the point is the same: original posts landing every day for 90 days, with the times chosen rather than whenever you happened to open the app. If the program math does not work for your account, the other X revenue streams do not depend on it, and the money side of this one is modeled in the X earnings calculator.

Frequently asked questions

How many impressions per day do I need for X Original Content Rewards?

About 5,556. The gate is 500,000 verified Home Timeline impressions over 90 days, so 500,000 divided by 90 is 5,556 per day sustained. Replies are excluded, so that pace has to come from original posts.

How long does it take to qualify for Original Content Rewards from scratch?

At least 90 days, because the impression threshold is measured over the prior 90 days. There is no way to compress that window. If you are short today, your earliest realistic qualification is 90 days from your next post.

Do replies count toward the 500,000 impressions?

No. Replies are explicitly excluded. Only verified Home Timeline impressions on your original posts count, from paying Premium users, with the post at least 50 percent visible.

Can I use scheduled posts to qualify?

Yes. Nothing in the program requires you to post manually. What matters is that the content is original and published to the timeline. Scheduling helps because the window is 90 days long and gaps inside it cannot be backfilled later.

Does an evergreen or recycled post count as original?

Reposting your own earlier writing is your original content. Reposting or reproducing content made by someone else is not, and does not qualify. Keep a recycled queue filled with your own material.

What happens if I get removed from the program?

Repeated engagement solicitation, three or more times, means removal plus a referral for a policy violation. Reposted content does not earn in the first place. A lapsed Premium subscription ends eligibility until it is active again.
