What replaced X Creator Revenue Sharing?

Original Content Rewards. Creator Revenue Sharing pays out for the last time on September 7, 2026, and enrollment for the new program opens September 8. It pays on verified Home Timeline impressions of your original posts instead of ads in your replies. Gates: active Premium, 18 or over, 500 verified followers, 500,000 verified impressions in 90 days.

Payouts are biweekly and run through both Stripe and X Money. Replies are excluded from the impression count, and reposted content does not qualify.

Why X changed the program

Revenue sharing paid you a share of the ads X served inside the reply threads under your posts. That put the money in the replies, not in the post. The rational strategy under those rules was to write something that provoked a long argument, then let the ad impressions in that argument pay you. A lot of the worst content on the platform was a direct response to that incentive.

Original Content Rewards moves the measurement to the post itself: verified Home Timeline impressions, from paying Premium users, with the post at least 50 percent visible on screen. Replies collect no qualifying impressions, so the argument-farming strategy pays nothing.

The short version

The old program paid you for the fight in your replies. The new one pays you for the post people actually read.

Ten times smaller is not ten times easier

500,000 beats 5,000,000 on paper. But the new count only accepts verified Home Timeline impressions on original posts, from paying Premium users, at 50 percent visibility. If most of your old impressions came from replies, your qualifying number is far lower than your analytics total suggests.

What to do before September 8

The 500,000 window looks backward at the prior 90 days, which means the posting that qualifies you for enrollment already happened. Run your numbers first, then decide whether you are enrolling on day one or posting into a fresh window.

Frequently asked questions

What replaced X Creator Revenue Sharing?

Original Content Rewards. Creator Revenue Sharing pays out for the last time on September 7, 2026, and enrollment for Original Content Rewards opens September 8, 2026. Revenue sharing paid a cut of ads served in the replies under your posts. Original Content Rewards pays on verified Home Timeline impressions of your own original posts.

When did X Creator Revenue Sharing end?

The final payout is September 7, 2026. Payments stopping after that date are the program ending, not a billing failure on your account. There is no appeal, because nothing broke.

What are the new eligibility requirements?

An active Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business subscription, account holder aged 18 or over, at least 500 verified followers, and at least 500,000 verified Home Timeline impressions in the prior 90 days with replies excluded. All four gates at the same time.

Did the impression threshold get easier?

The number dropped from 5,000,000 organic impressions in 3 months to 500,000 verified impressions in 90 days, so it is ten times smaller. It is also narrower: only verified Home Timeline impressions on original posts, from paying Premium users, with the post at least 50 percent visible. Reply impressions no longer count at all.

How do payouts work under Original Content Rewards?

Biweekly, computed on qualified impressions from paying Premium users. Payouts run through Stripe and through X Money. Stripe is still a supported rail, so an existing Stripe payout account keeps working.

Do I have to re-enroll?

Yes. Original Content Rewards is a separate program with its own enrollment, opening September 8, 2026. Being in Creator Revenue Sharing does not carry you over.

500,000 impressions in 90 days is a posting cadence

About 5,556 verified impressions a day on original posts, with no dead weeks inside the window. Write in batches, publish daily, keep the queue full.
